Red My Lips:How to choose your shade

As of late my facebook timeline has been filled with very negative links/articles etc about victims of sexual abuse and even one that was a little bit less negative(as it was a very noble thing to do) of a father that got stabbed 17 TIMES to protect his daughter from being raped.Where have the days of the decent human beings gone?

I am very sexual person and love dressing sexy or provocatively according to me lol,so please don't say I'm vain.(see below for a visual example). Is that good enough reason for anyone to feel they have the right to sexually abuse me?OH HELL NO!Please mums and dads start the conversation with your kids,make sure they know when they are being sexually abused and that they never have to feel embarrassed to tell you if it is happening. Well, this wasn't supposed to be a serious post at all but I just felt the need to do my little part and maybe I'll do a full post at a later stage to say exactly how I feel.So  here goes the fun part;
About a month ago I received an event invite for the Red My Lip Campaign  on Facebook,and this and some of my loyal readers is why I have decided to do this post.

What is the Red My Lip;

JOIN US in April: Wear red lipstick and help raise awareness about sexual violence and SPEAK OUT against victim-blaming! This is not about VANITY. It's about VISIBILITY. (Kind of like Movember...minus the brilliantly creepy 'staches.)

What is the mission:

To transform our culture of sexual violence by educating, inspiring, and mobilizing a global community to red their lips, raise their voices, and create real change.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE PERFECT RED LIPSTICK FOR YOU:

FAIR SKIN: a matte red lipstick that has a slight orange undertone.

BEIGE SKIN: Dark deep lip with gold undertones

GOLDEN SKIN: A bright, deep matte coral

CARAMEL: Cool reds are wearable but warm reds are gorgeous on this skin tone

ALMOND : Warm reds are pretty but cool reds are meant for you

So these are just a few guidelines as to what to look for when searching for the perfect red lip.
I am however not a make-up artist and these are just things that I have learnt over time as I am a huge make-up enthusiast. My best advice would be to go to your favourite make up counters and speak to the make-up consultant.I have a few favourites which I will list below with pics

This is the Guerlain Rouge #70,I was very impressed with this lipstick as it stayed on all day without a top up and only faded the evening about 30 minutes before I washed my face before going to bed.

Available at  Red Square Tygervalley - R675
Make up Artist :  Anthony
This is the Chanel Rouge Pirate,this is my favourite one doesn't stay on as long as the Guerlain but  stays on +- 6-8 hours.
Available at Chanel Counter Edgars Tygervalley - R500
Make up Artist : Ryan
This is the Elizabeth Arden Power Red,also a very nice lip colour and goes on very smoothly.

Available at Foschini Tygervalley -R270
Make-up Artist : Kelly

Enjoy your shopping! Please do let us which one you decide on.

Peace and love
CoCo
